An SSH agent does not answer
When a connection through an agent fails, the tab shows a repair card: follow it. These are the refusals behind it.
By Lucas Russo, developer of SSHive · Updated
| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| The agent refused the request | Unlock the vault (Strongbox, 1Password and the like), then try again; accept the Touch ID confirmation |
| The agent offers no usable key | Add the key to the vault, and turn its SSH agent sharing on |
| The server refused every key the agent offered | The public key is not in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys of the server |
| The connection was cancelled because the use of that agent was not allowed | You declined: Settings > Connection > SSH Agent, then allow it |
| The connection expired while the agent waited for your approval | Approve faster in the vault, or touch the security key |
~/.ssh/config turns the agent off for this server (IdentityAgent none) | Choose the agent in the server itself, or take the IdentityAgent none line out |
Each of these cards is explained at length, with the settings it talks about, in SSH agents.
