SSHive Agent
Update SSHive Agent
It updates itself from its own window, from sshive.app and nowhere else, and checks the signature of what it downloaded before installing it.
By Lucas Russo, developer of SSHive · Updated
When SSHive offers it
- Settings > Connection > SSH Agent: the card SSHive Agent says Version X, update available. Click Update SSHive Agent.
- The window of SSHive Agent opens: "SSHive offers version Y of SSHive Agent. You have version X." Click Update.
- It downloads the new version from sshive.app, checks its signature and installs it, saying so at each step.
- "Version Y installed. SSHive Agent is restarting." The window opens again: "SSHive Agent has been updated (version Y)."
Check it yourself
In the window of SSHive Agent, Check for Updates. "SSHive Agent is up to date (version X)." when there is nothing new.
If the update does not go through
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| It could not download, and asks you to check the connection | Try Again once the connection is back |
| sshive.app is not offering that update for the moment | Try later, or Open sshive.app/agent |
| The downloaded file is not signed by NetMeSafe and notarised by Apple. Nothing was installed | Nothing changed. Try later, and tell us |
| SSHive Agent cannot replace itself where it is | It is not in the Applications folder, or cannot write there: download the new version from sshive.app/agent and replace the old one |
| The installation failed | The same: download it by hand |
Applies to SSHive 2.0.8 on Mac
